Madurai - Rameshwaram - Kovalam - Alleppey - Munnar - Kochi - Flyback frm Kochi

On arrival at Madurai Airport, meet and greet our representative who will assist with your transfer and sightseeing. Madurai is known for its ancient temples, vibrant streets, and rich Tamil heritage.

 

Madurai Sightseeings:

• Meenakshi Amman Temple: Iconic Dravidian-style temple dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareshwarar.
• Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal: Historic palace known for its grand pillars and courtyard.
• Gandhi Memorial Museum: Museum showcasing Mahatma Gandhi’s life and India’s freedom journey.
• Koodal Azhagar Temple: Prominent Vishnu temple known for its intricate architecture.
• Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam: Large temple tank famous for its Float Festival.
• Local Market: Explore shops around the temple for brass items, fabrics, and handicrafts.

 

Note: Sightseeing in Madurai will be covered based on your arrival time and temple timings. Meenakshi Temple typically closes in the afternoon (12 PM–4 PM), so plan visits accordingly.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Madurai. Complete any remaining sightseeing in Madurai before departure. The distance between Madurai and Rameshwaram is approximately 175 km, taking around 3.5–4 hours by road. Enjoy a scenic drive through rural Tamil Nadu as you make your way to the sacred island town of Rameshwaram, an important pilgrimage destination for devotees of Lord Shiva and part of the Char Dham circuit.

 

En Route Sightseeing (Optional):

• Pamban Bridge Viewpoint: Stop for a photo session as you cross India’s first sea bridge offering spectacular ocean views.

 

On arrival in Rameshwaram, check in to your hotel and later proceed to explore the town based on available time.

Rameshwaram Sightseeings (if time permits):

• Ramanathaswamy Temple: Renowned Jyotirlinga temple known for its long corridor and sacred theerthams.
• Agnitheertham: Sacred seashore where pilgrims take a holy dip before temple darshan.
• Local Market Visit: Explore shops selling conch items, seashell crafts, and local souvenirs.

 

Note: Sightseeing in Rameshwaram will be covered based on arrival time. Early check-in may allow a temple visit on the same day. All the sights will be covered only once during your entire stay in Rameshwaram even if sights are listed multiple times.

Early Morning proceed for Darshan at Ramanathaswamy Temple. Later visit Ramarpadam Temple, Five Faced Hanuman Temple. Later head to Kovalam. It would take 8-9 hours to reach to Kovalam. If time is available you can enjoy the time at the beach.

After breakfast head to backwaters of Kerala after enjoying the bewitching beaches. If you have not visited the Temples the Previous day , the you can cover those in the morning and then head to alleppey. Arrive at Alleppey & check in at the Houseboat. Start your cruise through the rich and splendid backwaters of Alleppey. Enjoy the unique and exclusive experience & relax @ the luxurious houseboat. We will be cruising along the village sides and paddy fields witnessing the life of the Keralite villages. Few Important Pointers: A. From 05.30 pm to 08.00 am next day - Boat will Anchored & it will be idle in the lake. (As per GOVT. Rule- Village people need to put nets in the lake for fishing). B. Deluxe Houseboat: AC Operational Timings are 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM In Bedroom Only. C. Premium Houseboat: AC Runs 24*7. However at a given point in time, only One AC is operational (At Either Deck or Bedroom). D. AC runs on a diesel engine, so it takes 30 mins - 1 hour to cool the room.

We will head to Munnar. Visit all the sites on the way to Hotel. Once you reach Munnar, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel. Thereafter, the remaining day is free for leisure activities in hotel. You could enjoy dinner at Sarvana Bhawan @Main Market. It is completely veg restaurant and serves tasty south indian dishes.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Munnar. Complete any remaining sightseeing in Munnar before beginning your journey to Kochi.

Kochi is approximately 130 km away from Munnar, and it would take around 4 hours to reach by road.

En route, visit the following attractions:

• Valara Waterfalls – a beautiful cascade surrounded by dense forests
• Cheyyappara Waterfalls – a seven-step waterfall offering great photo opportunities

 

Upon reaching Kochi, set out to explore Fort Kochi, known for its colonial charm and coastal beauty.

Sightseeing in Fort Kochi includes:

• Chinese Fishing Nets – Iconic cantilevered fishing nets that define Kochi’s shoreline
• St. Francis Church – The oldest European church in India, built in the early 16th century
• Santa Cruz Basilica – A magnificent church with impressive architecture and interiors
• Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace) – A Portuguese-built palace famous for its Kerala murals
• Jew Town & Synagogue – A quaint area filled with antique shops and the historic Jewish Synagogue

Later, return to your hotel in Kochi and relax for the evening.
