Meet and greet from Kochi Head to Munnar via Athirapally Waterfalls

After landing in Kochi, meet our representative at the airport or railway station. Start your drive to Athirapally Waterfalls, which is approximately 70 km from Kochi and takes around 1.5–2 hours by road.

 

Athirapally sightseeing:

  • Athirapally Waterfalls – Known as the “Niagara of Kerala,” spend about 1–1.5 hours enjoying the top and bottom viewpoints. Entry fee: INR 40/adult, INR 10/child, INR 150/foreigner.
  • Thumboormuzhi Hanging Bridge – Pedestrian bridge over the Chalakudy River. Entry fee: INR 40/adult, INR 10/child.
  • Charpa Waterfalls – Small cascading falls ideal for photography.
  • Vazhachal Falls – Scenic waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.

 

After sightseeing, continue your journey to Munnar, which is approximately 130 km from Athirapally and takes around 4 hours by road.

Munnar → Thekkady

Head to Thekkady and Enjoy the Sights in Thekkady

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Munnar. Complete any remaining sightseeing if not already done. Depart for Thekkady. Munnar is approximately 90 km away from Thekkady, and it would take around 3–4 hours by road.

 

En route, visit the following attractions (optional stops depending on time):

  • Spice plantations – Explore Kerala’s aromatic spice gardens and learn about cardamom, pepper, cinnamon, and more.

Thekkady to Varkala Via Alleppey

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Thekkady and begin your journey towards Alleppey, famous for its serene backwaters and traditional houseboats. Alleppey is approximately 140 km from Thekkady, and it would take around 4–4.5 hours to reach by road.

  • Backwater Cruise (optional) – Experience a traditional Kerala houseboat cruise through the scenic backwaters.

 

After completing sightseeing in Alleppey, continue your drive towards Jatayu Earth Center in Chadayamangalam, a one-of-its-kind attraction blending mythology, art, and adventure. Jatayu Earth Center is approximately 90 km from Alleppey, and it would take around 2.5–3 hours to reach by road.

Varkala to Kovalam

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Varkala. Complete any remaining sightseeing in Varkala before departure. The distance between Varkala and Kovalam is approximately 55 km, taking around 1.5–2 hours by road.

 

Enjoy a scenic drive through coastal Kerala, passing beautiful beaches, coconut groves, and serene backwaters as you head towards Kovalam, one of India’s most famous beach destinations.

 

Arrive in Kovalam, known for its crescent-shaped beaches, lighthouse views, and relaxed seaside atmosphere. Check in to your hotel and proceed for sightseeing based on available time.

 

Kovalam Sightseeings:

  • Lighthouse Beach: Famous beach with a towering lighthouse offering panoramic views (access by steps).

Trivendrum Day Excursion

After breakfast at 9:00 AM, begin your full-day sightseeing tour of Thiruvananthapuram, a city known for its temples, palaces, museums, and rich cultural heritage.

 

Thiruvananthapuram Local Sightseeing

  • Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, one of India’s most sacred Vishnu temples. Only Hindus are allowed to enter, and the dress code here is strictly enforced. Men must wear a mundu/dhoti without shirts or pants, while women must wear a saree, half-saree, or long skirt with blouse; salwar suits are accepted only if a mundu is tied over them. The temple typically remains open from 3:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, though timings may vary on festival days. Phones, cameras, handbags, and electronic items are not permitted inside and must be deposited at the counters.
  • Kuthiramalika Palace Museum, known for its exquisite carved wooden horses and royal exhibits. The entry fee here is ₹40, and it remains open from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, with Monday as a holiday.
  • Napier Museum, famous for its Indo-Saracenic architecture and impressive collection of artifacts, open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, also closed on Mondays
  • Sri Chitra Art Gallery, which houses precious works including Raja Ravi Varma paintings, Tanjore art, Mughal art, and Kerala mural pieces. The entry fee is ₹400, and it remains open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Monday as a holiday.
  • Attukal Bhagavathy Temple, popularly known as the “Women’s Sabarimala.” This temple is open throughout the day, offers free entry, and observes short breaks during pooja timings.

We will cover the Thiruvanthpuram sights including padmanabhaswamy temple If not covered yesterday and time allows. Today is the time to leave the places. We are sure that you have collected millions of sparkling memories of mountains, beaches and hills. It would be possible to board from either of Trivendram, Alleppey, Ernakulam or Kochi.
