Pick up Kochi Alleppey - Varkala - Local - Kovalam - Local - Drop to Trivendram

After breakfast at 9 AM, complete any sights in Kochi or Fort Kochi that were not covered yesterday. 

 

Afterwards, depart for Alleppey. The distance from Kochi to Alleppey is approximately 60 km, and it takes around 3 hours by road. You should reach Alleppey by 12:00 PM.

 

Check in at the Houseboat and start your cruise through the scenic backwaters of Alleppey. Relax on the luxurious houseboat while cruising past village sides and paddy fields, witnessing authentic Kerala village life. The houseboat is fully furnished with bedrooms, a private balcony, and a kitchen, and includes a chef, oarsmen, and a cabin assistant.

 

Important Pointers for Houseboat Stay:

• From 5:30 PM to 8:00 AM the next day, the boat will be anchored and idle on the lake due to fishing activities by local villagers (as per government rules).
• Deluxe Houseboat: AC operational in bedroom only from 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
• Premium Houseboat: AC runs 24/7, but only one AC can operate at a time (either deck or bedroom).
• AC takes 30 minutes to 1 hour to cool the room since it runs on a diesel engine.
• Enjoy a unique and exclusive experience cruising the rich Alleppey backwaters.

Check out from the hotel and post breakfast, we would leave the mountains and head to Verkala. Verkala is an evergreen and pleasant climatic beach resort. With high rocks and calm blue water bays, it is a true paradise for tourists. It has various beaches. Enjoy the beaches at your leisure time.

After breakfast proceed for Varkala siteseeing.Major side seings are: visit to Sivagiri, Janardhana Swamy Temple, Vishnu Temples,the Papasnanam Beach, Kappil Lake.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Varkala. Complete any remaining sightseeing in Varkala before departure. The distance between Varkala and Kovalam is approximately 55 km, taking around 1.5–2 hours by road.

 

Enjoy a scenic drive through coastal Kerala, passing beautiful beaches, coconut groves, and serene backwaters as you head towards Kovalam, one of India’s most famous beach destinations.

 

Arrive in Kovalam, known for its crescent-shaped beaches, lighthouse views, and relaxed seaside atmosphere. Check in to your hotel and proceed for sightseeing based on available time.

 

Kovalam Sightseeings:

• Lighthouse Beach: Famous beach with a towering lighthouse offering panoramic views (access by steps).
• Hawa Beach (Eve’s Beach): Calm beach ideal for sunbathing and leisurely walks.
• Samudra Beach: Quiet and less crowded beach perfect for evening relaxation.
• Vizhinjam Harbour: Colorful fishing harbor offering excellent photo stops.
• Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium: Small aquarium showcasing marine species.

 

Note: Sightseeing in Kovalam will be covered based on available time across your stay. Evening at Lighthouse Beach is highly recommended for sunset views.

After breakfast at 9:00 AM, we would start the city tour of Thiruvanthpuram. Important attractions are the followings: Padmanabhaswamy Temple: hindus are allowed in the premise with a special dress code. Kuthiramalika Palace: Entry Fees – INR 40 (Timings: 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM and closed on Monday) Napier Museum (Timings: 10 AM - 5:00 PM and closed on Monday) Sri Chitra Art Gallery INR 400/- entry fees (Timings: 10:00 AM. to 5:00 PM and Monday Holiday) Attukal Bhagavathy Temple – Free and open all day

We will cover the Thiruvanthpuram sights including padmanabhaswamy temple If not covered yesterday and time allows. Today is the time to leave the places. We are sure that you have collected millions of sparkling memories of mountains, beaches and hills. It would be possible to board from either of Trivendram, Alleppey, Ernakulam or Kochi.
